What are the offerings of the current Edmodo?
The current version of Edmodo allows for the creation of engaging and interactive lessons through a safe and secure platform. With minimal student information required to join the Edmodo classroom, students’ safety and privacy are protected. Further, with teachers as platform moderators, Edmodo becomes a safe space for communication. The current real-time dashboard also allows for limited progress tracking abilities.

Content creation and distribution is a slow affair
Edmodo 2.0 utilizes advanced algorithms that help in providing differentiated instructions to better address diverse learning styles and needs. Instructors will have access to a full library of different built-in, entirely customizable authoring tools to meet any training objectives. Further, content could be created and distributed quicker by effortlessly transforming the same content into various types of learning materials. For example, to teach a marketing concept, an instructor could have the material transformed into a video, a podcast or even a game by the click of a few buttons. Each week, while instructors will be reminded to upload sequenced units of study and outline learning objectives, learners will also be assigned a range of learning activities to work towards achieving learning goals.

By formalizing learning and training through a supportive environment, learners are also given a voice and a choice in their learning. After a learner is invited to the course, the learner will be given a short questionnaire that automates course suggestions. A schedule which is complete with start and end dates, assignment due dates, and type of learning materials will be automatically proposed. At this stage, the learner could change, modify or reorder the automated schedule to best suit their learning needs and goals. It is expected that by giving learners a say in their learning process, learner accountability could be developed. Further, Edmodo 2.0 instantly provides trainers the current progress of a learner and keeps track of learner performance. If a learner is struggling or lagging on some courses, the trainer will be alerted and Edmodo 2.0 will further provide automated suggestions or supplemental materials to help move the learner forward. This is important to help trainer identify learners’ strengths and weaknesses so that help is provided accordingly in a timely manner.

As many corporate trainings are conducted after business hours or weekends, it is crucial to have a 24/7 phone support service. Edmodo 2.0 offers its users technical representatives who are available to guide trainers and learners handle issues ranging from basic login errors to advanced problems such as issues with data migration or programming glitches. Additionally, as Edmodo grows, it is our aim to assign groups of users to each representative who deals with a limited number of customers so that more personalized services could be provided.
