I am Connie Sim and for the past 10 years, I have been teaching ESL to learners of all ages. After COVID-19 disrupted education worldwide in 2020, I transitioned into online teaching and soon after, was privileged to be in a team that helps other staff in my institution transition into online learning. Keen to learn about the different methods to make learning effective, interesting and engaging, I enrolled into the UBC's Master of Educational Technology program in September 2020. As a current graduate student who is enthusiastic in exploring a variety of tools and also, a teacher who relies heavily on an effective learning management system to disseminate learning materials for students registered in the online courses, I recognize the importance of having a well-designed Learning Management System (LMS): one that is aligned with the science of learning.
As the new CEO of Edmodo 2.0, I would like to maintain its user-friendly and intuitive interface. Edmodo, originally built on the ideas of social networking and designed with a similar Facebook style interface, have also benefited many from its provision as a secure communication environment for teacher, students and parents. The revamped version, Edmodo 2.0, strives to expand its usability to further cater for corporate training by providing its users with 24/7 phone support, as well as inclusion of learning tracking system to encourage learner accountability and built-in authoring tools to create and distribute content quicker. |
